WARNING:  Some pages on this site are graphics-heavy, so please be patient.

The Anime Alliance is an organized  group of fan clubs allied to promote the understanding and appreciation of Japanese animation and graphic fiction outside of Japan, operating primarily -- but not exclusively -- in the Eastern half of the United States.

The Alliance presents this site to provide information to those interested in finding anime, manga and related materials in the New York City metropolitan area.  New York City has the largest Asian community on the American Eastern Seaboard, and consequently has an exceptionally large market in items of Japanese popular culture, including anime and manga.  However, some of the more interesting shops are rather hard to find, especially since many of the shops don't advertise in the English language.

Everything in this site is copyright 1998 by Ralph M. Young -- except for the stuff I swiped from other people.  Any use of other entities' copyrighted material herein is intended as a fair use  for review purposes and is in no way a challenge to the owner's property rights therein.

All opinions expressed herein are those of the individual reviewer and do not necessarily reflect the position of the Anime Alliance as a whole.  Locations referred to as "possible bootleg sites" are meant as a cautionary advisory to the consumer and not as a specific allegation of any wrongdoing.

Much thanks goes to John "Trent" Lambert, Steve Pearl, Michele Tang  and Seth Robertson for providing  me with much of the information this site is based on, and for organizing the events described herein.
